The year has started with an important even in the world of cellphones and other electronics. The CES conference that took place this month unveiled a few new cell phone deals that will hit the market in the following 30 days. One of the biggest announcements made was the one from Microsoft.
A representative from Microsoft has made numerous comments about the future software programs from Microsoft. Probably the most interesting statement was that Windows Phone will come with Skype features.
It is well known that Microsoft has purchased Skype more than nine months ago, but not a word was said about the merge between Skype and other Microsoft products. Right now, the company has made a genuine breakthrough on the market and claims that will give new communication benefits on all the telephones that will use its os.
Sadly, the next version of Windows Phone known as Tango will not get this update. So, all the cell phone deals that will use the brand new OS will only get minor upgrades and will not benefit from Skype. The full Skype update should come with the version called Apollo. It is not known when this version will be released because work on it is not completed.
For those that possess a cellular phone that utilizes the current Windows Phone 7, Microsoft will release a Skype app that will make your cellphone compatible with the top features of Skype. You will be able to use this app only if your phone is equipped with a front facing camera like the one for 3G calls. If you have an older cell phone then you will not be able to use this ability.
The representatives at Microsoft also said some things about Windows 8 and Xbox. It is said that both products may get a Skype update soon. By using the new Xbox version it will be easier to make video calls using your TV. This is an excellent feature and will enhance the way you communicate to your loved ones. I cannot wait to see whether all these statements will come true. Time is going to pass and we are going to see if the men at Microsoft can make these things possible. I absolutely admire the effort made by Microsoft so as to remain competitive in the marketplace of phones. It will be a great thing if they will be able to promote their new products that use the new Skype software.
